Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team earned its second ODAC win of the season with a 9-0 shutout over Lynchburg Saturday afternoon.
Playing on Senior Day, in which Vladimir Daskalov was honored prior to the match, SU (7-7, 2-6 ODAC) won eight of nine matches in straight sets to down Lynchburg (0-9, 0-7).
Will Leach and Zach O'Neal got the day started on a strong not with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles before Steven Baker and Jesse Ewing won 8-1 at No. 1 before Blake Sharp and Matt Hwang won 8-6 at No. 2.
Sharp had the match-clinching win, taking out Grady Allin 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Baker put Sharp in position to clinch by winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1.
Ewing rebounded from a loss at love in the first set to win 7-5, 6-1 in the second and third to take the match.
Hwang, Leach and Kelly Sykes won in straight sets in the bottom three singles matches.
Shenandoah is back in action Sunday afternoon versus Emory and Henry.
