WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team completed its regular season Friday afternoon with a 9-0 non-league victory over Ferrum.
The Hornets (9-8) opened with three dominant doubles victories over the Panthers (4-12) and then five of the six singles matches in straight sets.
SU dropped just two games in doubles as the No. 1 team of Steven Baker and Jesse Ewing and the No. 3 tandem of Will Leach and Matt Hwang both won at love.
Blake Sharp and Kelly Sykes completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory at No. 2.
Leach did not drop a set all day as won at love at No. 5 with Zach O'Neal matching that feat at No. 6.
The Hornets completed the sweep with straight set wins from Baker at No. 1, Ewing at No. 2, Sharp at No. 3 and Hwang at No. 4.
Sharp had the only three set match, winning 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4).
Shenandoah now moves on to ODAC Tournament play, taking on No. 1 Washington and Lee on Saturday.
