Generals Shut Out Men's Tennis

WINCHESTER, Va. - No. 31 Washington and Lee University dropped just a single set on its way to a 9-0 ODAC men's tennis victory over Shenandoah Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Brett Dubin won that set for the Hornets (1-5, 0-2 ODAC); Dubin bounced back from a 6-2 loss in the opening set of his match at No. 4 singles versus Justin Gillette to win 6-4 in the second. Gillette then won the 10-point pro-set at 7 to clinch that point.

The closest of the remaining eight matches came at No. 3 doubles where Dubin and Zach O'Neal fell 8-3.

Washington and Lee improves to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the ODAC with the win.

Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday in a 2 p.m. ODAC contest against Emory and Henry.
