Ferrum Tops Men's Tennis

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Ferrum College earned its eighth men's tennis victory of the season with an 8-1 non-league win over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.

The Panthers (8-5) dropped just five games in sweeping the doubles portion over SU (3-7).

The closest doubles match came at No. 1, where Taylor Napier and Connor Moncure won 8-4 over Steven Baker and Matt Hwang.

Hwang, playing No. 3, had a close singles match as well. He dropped a 6-4, 5-7, 0-1 (4-10) decision.

Steven Baker, at No. 1, was the Hornets lone winner. He won 6-2, 6-2.

FC won the remaining five singles matches in straight sets, dropping no more than four games in any of the five contests.

Shenandoah continues this homestand on Saturday with an ODAC match versus Roanoke.
