OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Host Stevenson University took all but one match in earning an 8-1 non-league men's tennis decision over Shenandoah Sunday afternoon.
Senior Steven Baker had the lone win for SU (1-2) as he rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles.
The Mustangs (2-2) opened with three wins in doubles before winning Nos. 2 through 5 singles in straight sets.
No. 6 singles was unplayed due to an injury default.
Baker and Jesse Ewing had the closest doubles match; they fell 8-6 to Bryan Gieselman and Peter Hobilzell.
Baker defeated Gieselman in that No. 1 singles contest.
Shenandoah is back in action on Tuesday in a non-league contest at Goucher.
