Bridgewater Defeats Men's Tennis

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Host Bridgewater College earned wins in all but one match on its way to an 8-1 ODAC men's tennis victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.

BC (4-9, 3-2 ODAC) swept the doubles, winning at 3, 4 and love, respectively, to take a 3-0 lead over the Hornets (3-9, 2-5).

The Eagles then clinched with wins at Nos. 6 and 2 singles.

Freshman Brett Dubin, playing No. 4, was the Hornets lone winner. He was a 6-2, 6-3 victor over Emmett Johnson.

Matt Hwang, playing No. 3, extended his first set into a tiebreaker where Joe Dillenbeck was able to capture the set with a 9-7 victory.

Shenandoah is off until traveling to Southern Virginia on Wednesday, April 13 in a 4 p.m. non-league match.
