Men's Tennis Extinguishes Blazers

FREDERICK, Md. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis squad completed its non-league slate Friday with a 7-2 victory at Hood College.

Shenandoah (2-12) snapped an 11-match losing streak with the non-league win over the Blazers (2-12).

The Hornets opened by sweeping the three doubles matches, winning Nos. 1 and 2 at 8-2, before clinching with wins at Nos. 2 and 4 singles.

Brett Dubin had the match clinching win, taking out Mikey Brady 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

Dubin, along with Matt Hwang, Evan Rosenberg and Kyle Denning, were all double winners.

Hwang combined with Bryan Harris to win at No. 1 doubles and then was a 6-3, 6-4 winner at No. 1 singles.

Dubin combined with Evan Rosenberg at No. 2 doubles with Rosenberg winning his No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-1.

Denning won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles after he and and Andrew Richards were 8-6 winners at No. 3 doubles.

SU led the match 7-0 before the Blazers took the Nos. 3 and 5 singles matches in three sets.

Shenandoah completes its season Saturday with a 3:00 ODAC match versus Virginia Wesleyan
