WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Guilford College swept the top four singles matches Friday to rally for a 5-4 ODAC men's tennis victory over Shenandoah University.
Shenandoah (7-7, 3-6 ODAC) took a 2-1 lead following the doubles portion of the match thanks to a 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 1 and an 8-1 victory at No. 3.
Matthew Hwang and Darian Diaz combined for that victory in the top doubles match with Brett Dubin and Evan Rosenberg earning the 8-1 triumph at No. 3.
The Quakers (11-4, 8-1) took a 4-2 lead with wins at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles only to see the Hornets rally with a 6-3, 6-0 Evan Rosenberg victory at No. 5.
GC then clinched with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1.
Bryan Harris, playing at No. 6, won 6-1, 6-2 for the Hornets in the final match of the day.
Shenandoah hosts Hampden-Sydney on Sunday at 1:30 in the regular season finale.
