Kindig Dominates at Indoor Opener

Indoor Track & Field Opens Season at the Bast-Cregger Invitational

SALEM, Va.- The Shenandoah University men's and women's track and field team kicked off the indoor season with a strong showing at Roanoke, competing at the Bast-Cregger Challenge on Saturday.

Tucker Kindig stole the day's spotlight, demolishing the program's record for the weight throw by over a meter. His toss of 17.39 meters had the distance to not only win the event but break the facility record at the Cregger Center as well. Kindig was also the runner-up in shot put.

The throws squad had six top-10 finishes while the men's team saw 18 new personal-bests and 10 top-10 showings.

QUOTE FROM COACH

"This was a fantastic season opener overall and the staff and I are proud of the results with 34 personal-bests and eight finishes that broke into the program's top-10 all-time list. Certainly, Tucker's (John Kindig) performance today was the highlight, not only did he break the school record but currently has the 4th best result in the entire division. We look forward to continue our training and improving over the winter break until we host our invitational. " - Coach Andrew Marrocco
