Thrush Earns All-ODAC at Conference Championships

Women Place 7th, Men Finish 9th

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University outdoor track and field teams completed day two of the ODAC Championships at Eastern Mennonite University with the women placing seventh and the men wrapping up in ninth. Washington and Lee won the team championship for the women, while Lynchburg took the title on the men's side.

Makenna Thrush earned third-team All-ODAC in the women's 1,500m event with a time of 4:50.71, which was 1.20 seconds behind first place. Kailey Lamont came in fifth in the event at 4:53.09, which is the fifth-best time in program history.

In the women's 400m finals, Alexis Hubbard placed sixth with a mark of 1:01.38, while in the men's 100m finals, William Crowder ran a 10.71 for seventh place.

Nathan Lee earned eighth place all-time in the SU record book for the men's 800m with his performance of 1:58.57, which gave him 10th in the event. Madeline Lotts, Emma Nicely, Amy Oleksy, and Grace Semow each wrapped up in the top 15 of the women's 800m, with Lotts crossing the finish line first for the Hornets at 2:23.67.

Wyatt Newcome ran a 59.76 in the men's 400m hurdles, which is the sixth best all-time for the men.

Janelle Anderson finished 10th in the women's 200m with a time of 26.66 seconds, and teammate Myah Powell-Utley set a PR in the race.

Thrush and Maddy Chorney finished inside the top 10 of the 5000m with times of 18:41.62 and 19:14.51, respectively.

The men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams earned team points for the Hornets, while the women's 4x400m relay team earned the same accomplishment.

Katya Hoover came in fourth for the women's javelin throw with a distance of 34.27m. Mackenzie Plowman wrapped up two spots behind Hoover with a mark of 32.62m, which puts her fifth all-time for the program.

Jaimir Bailey hit 12.78m in the men's triple jump, which gave him seventh place and the fifth-best mark all-time for the Hornets. Kaitlyn Loy earned the second all-time mark for the SU women in the same event with a distance of 10.46m.

Shenandoah heads to the Widener Final Qualifier on May 12th.
