THE RUNDOWN

1st Quarter
Ragan Johnson's putback after her own missed shot was the first basket of the game, but the pair of Hornets would see three lead changes throughout the first with Lynchburg leading by as many as six between 2:27 and 0:46 with an 11-0 run.
2nd Quarter
Shenandoah's defense held strong through the second quarter, allowing the hosts to score just six points and capitalized on five Lynchburg turnovers to lead 25-24 going into halftime.
3rd Quarter
With starting guard Madisen Kimble exiting the game in the second quarter with an injury, the visiting offense was held to 11 points in the stanza. Lynchburg, on the strength of six field goals (one '3') and another five points from the line, outscored SU by seven points to take a 42-36 lead heading to the fourth.
4th Quarter
Shenandoah inched its way back to pull ahead 49-48 after a Ragan Johnson layup with 2:34 remaining,  but the lead did not last long as Maggie Quarles nailed a three-pointer on the hosts' ensuing possession. Shenandoah shot 9 of 17 during the fourth, but missed four of its seven attempts from the line as it attempted the comeback.

SU finished the night 7 of 17 (41 percent) from the line.

QUOTE FROM COACH

"We showed great effort and heart being able to claw back in the first and third quarters after those big Lynchburg runs. However, giving up 12 offensive rebounds and missing 10 free throws probably cost us the chance to win the ballgame." -Head Coach Melissa Smeltzer-Kraft
