HARRISONBURG, Va. - Shenandoah University stands tied for ninth Monday after day one of the Kinder-Williams men's golf tournament hosted by Bridgewater College.
Playing at the par-72, 6769-yard Mountain and Lake nines at Lakeview Golf Club, the Hornets had a collective 309 in the opening round.

Southern Virginia, with a one-under-par 287, holds a one stroke lead over Stevenson, Lynchburg, and Randolph-Macon.
SU is tied with Roanoke's 'B' team for ninth, eight shots back of tournament host Bridgewater.
The Hornets and Maroons are eight strokes clear of Maryville (Tenn.) and Averett University.
Travis Ebert, with a one-over-73, was the Hornets day one medalist. Ebert had five birdies in the opening round, shot even par on the back nine and is tied for 14th overall.
Trevor Berg had a 75, Will Holmes 80, and Logan Archibald 81 to round out the Shenandoah qualifying scores.
