Men's Golf Ties for Sixth at O'Briant-Jensen

Second Round of Tournament Canceled

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Shenandoah University men's golf team tied for sixth at The O'Briant-Jensen Memorial tournament hosted by Guilford College. The tournament was originally scheduled for two rounds, but the second round was canceled on Tuesday due to weather conditions in Greensboro.

The Hornets scored a 311 (+27) as a team, outscoring seven teams inside the Clippd top-50. Huntington, the number one-ranked team according to Clippd, won the tournament with a 295 (+11).

Braden Hermansky led the Hornets, tying for fifth out of the individuals, with a 74 (+3). The first-year started his tournament on hole 10, recording a birdie. Hermansky added another birdie on hole 16 and had four consecutive pars on holes one through four.

Ben Gray wrapped up one stroke behind Hermansky for 11th place. Gray carded birdies on two par fours and another one on the par five hole four.

Caden Sherman and Price Whitaker tied with each other with an 81 (+10). Sherman hit for a birdie on hole 10, while Whitaker recorded three birdies on holes two, four, and 11. Dan Ailor rounded out the tournament for the Hornets with an 88 (+17).

This concludes the fall schedule for the Hornets. SU returns to the course on March 2-3 for the Port City Invitational hosted by Berry College.
