Men's Golf Places Eighth at Mason-Dixon

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The (RV) Shenandoah University men's golf team placed eighth at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate on Saturday and Sunday. The Hornets carded a collective 301 in both rounds one and two, for a two-day score of 602 (+26).

Caden Sherman and Conor McCarthy tied for 20th overall, each scoring a 148 (+4). Sherman started his tournament with a 75 (+3) for the first round and a 73 (+1) on Sunday. Sherman's weekend concluded with four birdies on his final seven holes.

McCarthy shot a 71 (-1) on Saturday, landing six birdies, including four on the back nine. The first year wrapped the weekend up with a 77 (+5) on Sunday.

Ben Gray finished next for the Hornets, scoring a 153 (+9) through the two rounds. Saturday's 77 (+5) for Gray was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five, 498-yard hole 12. Gray started the second round with consecutive birdies and finished the round with a 76 (+4).

Dan Ailor tied for 43rd with a total of 154 (+10), carding a 79 (+7) in round one, followed by a 75 (+3) in the second round. Braden Hermansky closed out the scoring for the Hornets, scoring a 158 (+14).
