GREENSBORO, N.C. – Host Guilford College kept its ODAC men's basketball record perfect on the year with a 79-53 victory over Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.

The Quakers (10-3, 6-0 ODAC) led by seven points at halftime before pulling away from SU (3-12, 2-4).

The two teams traded the lead back-and-forth six times and were tied on two more occasions in the first half before GC took the lead for good on a Julius Burch layup at the 8:02 mark. Burke's bucket also started a 9-0 run for the hosts that gave them an eight-point, 27-19, lead with 6:51 remaining.

Davion Roberts drilled a '3' 30 seconds later to bring the Hornets to within five but Guilford was on top to stay.

A 9-1 Guilford run from the 14:17 to 10:46 marks pushed the advantage out to 15 points and effectively sealed the result. The Quakers led by as much as 31 before Shenandoah ended the game by scoring seven of the game's final nine points.

Jaylen Williams, the ODAC's leading scorer, paced SU with 16 points.
Deondre McNeill added 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor.

The Hornets shot 41 percent from the field (20-of-49) but were outrebounded 36-28 and committed 21 turnovers that turned into 32 Guilford points.

The Quakers were 31-of-64 (48 percent) from the field.

The Hornets return home Monday night to take on the other set of ODAC Hornets, the University of Lynchburg, in a 7 p.m. contest.
