LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 18 Washington & Lee scored the final four goals of the match Wednesday night to earn a 5-2 ODAC field hockey victory over No. 14 Shenandoah.
Shenandoah (15-2, 6-1 ODAC) led 2-1 after
Mairead Mckibbin scored her second goal in four minutes, but the Generals (13-2, 6-1) had an answer.

Betty Boatwright tied the game for W&L with an unassisted goal 14 seconds before halftime, and then gave her team the lead for good with a tally 5:58 into the third.
Two Alexis Parks goals, at 43:05 and 50:28, provided the final margin.
The Generals needed to rally as
Claudia Lenahan set up Mckibbin, the third leading goal scorer in the nation, scored at 19:23 and again at 23:43 to put the Hornets on top, 2-1.
Washington & Lee had scored the game's initial goal 15 seconds before the end of the first quarter.
The W&L defense, which gave up six shots to SU in the second quarter and four penalty corners, stiffened in the second half. Shenandoah was held to just four shots and without a penalty corner over the final 30 minutes of play.
SU took three of its four second half shots in the final stanza and had two shots on goal but Generals keeper Abby Long recorded two of her five saves to keep her team on top.

Shenandoah completes its regular season on Saturday with a 5 p.m. ODAC contest at Randolph-Macon. Official pairings for the ODAC Tournament will be announced following the completion of play on Saturday.
