WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's wrestling team posted its first-ever shutout victory Saturday with a 57-0 non-league win over Penn State – Mont Alto.
Shenandoah (2-3) had the match won before the opening bout as PSU-MA (0-3) forfeited at all but 157, 197, and heavyweight.
IN BRIEF
The Hornets won two of those three contested matches by fall with
Christian Johnson-Hunte pinning Shawn Howes in 4:12 at 157 and
Kaden Bryan finishing off Kyle Davis at heavyweight in 2:59.
The only match to go the distance was at 197, where
Troy Gibson was a 4-2 winner over Ron Schlipp.
Christopher Johnson-Hunte and
Dylan Wiegert competed in exhibition matches with Johnson-Hunte matching his twin brother by pinning Howes in 2:34.
Wiegert pinned Davis in 72 seconds to wrap up the afternoon.
