WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's basketball team completed its pre-Christmas schedule Sunday with an 87-45 non-league win over Gallaudet.
Shenandoah (8-2) led all but the opening 27 seconds of the contest versus the Bison (1-9).

SU opened up a 14-point, 28-14, lead after one as Coach
Melissa Smeltzer-Kraft's club shot 58 percent (11 of 19) from the field. Sophomore
Terese Greene, the current ODAC Player of the Week, did most of the damage with 13 of her team-high 19 points coming in that opening stanza.
Greene, who ended up playing just 19 minutes as the Hornets won comfortably for the eighth time this season, added five rebounds and three steals to her team-high 19 points.
Shenandoah maintained its pressure throughout the contest, adding 16 points in the second, 23 in the third, and 20 in the fourth to pull away.
Smeltzer-Kraft, who earned win No. 99 as the Hornets head coach, saw her club shoot 52 percent (38 of 73) for the game including a 63 percent (10 of 16) performance in the third.
The Bison, who dressed just six women, shot 41 percent (21 of 51) for the game and saw SU outrebound them 36-34.

Jessica Littlejohn and
Emily Williams backed up Greene with 18, 13, and 10 points, respectively.
Thirteen women saw action for the visitors with 10 of those scoring at least two points.
SU, following a
Maggie Rooklin jumper to give itself a 21-10 lead, led by double-digits for the final 32:31 of the game.
Cassidy Perry had 24 points for Gallaudet with her penultimate bucket of the night giving her 1000-career points.

Shenandoah is off until New Year's Eve when the Hornets travel to Mary Washington for a 1 p.m. non-league contest.
