WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's tennis team opened up its spring season Friday evening with a 6-3 non-league loss to Grove City.
Playing indoors at Winchester Country Club, Shenandoah (0-3) saw Grove City (2-0) win two of the three doubles matches and the bottom four singles matches to claim the victory.

Gene Perle-Jones accounted for all three SU victories.
The duo combined to win 8-5 in the top doubles match before each won in singles.
Orr was a 6-0, 6-4 victor at No. 1 and Perle-Jones 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2.
The Wolverines won the remaining four singles matches in straight sets.
