Men's Lacrosse Defeats Saints

Hornets win, 15-12

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team earned its second victory of the week Saturday with a 15-12 non-league win at Marymount.

After a back and forth initial 45 minutes, the Hornets (4-1) scored five goals in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Saints (1-2).

IN BRIEF

SU opened up the game scoring three goals in the first six minutes before MU got two of its own in the latter stages of the first.

Stephen Graham recorded four first half goals including three in the second quarter. Graham would finish the afternoon with six goals.

Shenandoah never trailed, but never was able to truly put the Saints until Jay Baker and Tyler Held scored back-to-back in a 98-second span late in the fourth. Those two goals proved to be the final tallies of the contest.

Goalie Mark Isabelle stopped 18 total shots on the afternoon.

Logan Clingerman led SU with three assists. Teammates Zachary Heiderman and Brock DiMauro also collected assists on the day.

Marymount outshot the Hornets, 52-40, and had a 40-34 edge in groundballs. MU also won 30 of 37 faceoffs.
