LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up their March calendar at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational hosted by University of Lynchburg Saturday evening.
Senior thrower
Wyatt Schannauer continues to have an impressive outdoor campaign with taking fourth place as the top Division III athlete in the men's shot put after a record-breaking toss of 14.75 meters.Â
For the second straight week, Schannauer broke the program's outdoor shot put record. He set another personal best in the men's discus at 42.40 meters. His mark placed him eighth and was once again the highest-finisher of Division III athletes in the event.Â
Elias McGhie and
Matthew Klocke placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the men's 400 meter intermediate hurdles race.
On the women's side,
Brooke Sandy took sixth in the intermediate hurdles after starting the day clearing 1.55 meters in the high jump, finishing as the meet's runner-up.
In the throwing circle, the women placed exceptionally well in the shot put and hammer.Â
Jessica Rendfrey took fifth place sending the shot 10.92 meters and was the top-finisher among DIII women.Â
Kiara Felston took fourth place in the hammer with a 43.00 meter mark.Â

The Hornets will compete at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary on Apr. 1 and 2.Â
