WINCHESTER, Va. – Division II Daemen College swept the singles on its way to an 8-1 men's tennis victory over Shenandoah University Wednesday afternoon.

Gene Perle-Jones got the Hornets (2-7) started with an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, but the Wildcats (3-8) answered back.

DC took a 2-1 lead heading into singles with 8-1 and 8-6 victories at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles, respectively.
The 'Cats then swept the singles, winning all but No. 1 in straight sets. At No. 1, Orr battled back from a 6-1 loss in the opening set to force a third with a 6-4 win in the second. Luis de Vuyst then closed out the match with a 6-2 victory in the final set.
Perle-Jones, at No. 2, and Aiden Steinly at No. 4 both took their opening set to a tiebreaker before falling.
