ASHLAND, Va. – Host Randolph-Macon outscored Shenandoah by one goal in both of the two middle two quarters Wednesday evening to earn a 16-14 ODAC men's lacrosse victory over the Hornets.
R-MC (7-5, 3-2 ODAC) broke open a 9-9 game by scoring three of the final four goals of the third period to take a lead it would not relinquish over SU (9-4, 4-2).

Christian Clement had the Hornets lone goal in that stanza-ending run for the 'Jackets; Clement scored unassisted at 1:17 to make it 11-10 in favor of the hosts.
R-MC answered back 25 seconds later to take a two-goal lead heading into the fourth, and after the two teams split eight fourth-quarter goals, earned the close victory.
The Hornets and Yellow Jackets not only split the eight goals, they traded tallies throughout the period with Macon opening the scoring at 11:10 and SU closing it at 35 seconds.
Following the last Shenandoah goal, by
Tyler Held, R-MC won the ensuing faceoff and was able to run out the clock.
The 'Jackets outshot SU, 49-40, and had a 18-16 edge at the faceoff 'x'. SU won the groundball battle, 32-31.
Held led the visitors with five goals for five points with
Matt Daniel adding four goals and
Jay Baker a goal and two assists.
Max Myers rounded out the multiple point scorers with two assists.

Mark Isabelle made 17 saves.
