BRIDGEWATER, Va. – No. 24 Shenandoah University completed a regular season baseball sweep over Bridgewater with a 5-1 ODAC victory Wednesday afternoon.
Shenandoah (24-8-1, 10-4-1 ODAC) broke open a one-run game with four unearned runs in the top of the ninth.

Gavin Horning had the big hit in the frame with a two-run double into the right center gap. Horning, the No. 2 hitter in the SU lineup, was put in position to pad the SU lead after leadoff hitter
Frankie Ritter reached on an infield error that also scored
Haden Madagan on the play.
Madagan led off the Shenandoah ninth with an infield single and was sacrificed to second. He moved 90 feet from home on
Matt Moon's single to right.
Kyle Lisa closed out the scoring in the frame with an RBI single to center to bring Horning home from second.
Bridgewater (21-13, 8-7) answered with one run on one hit and one walk in the bottom of the frame before
Tad Dean locked up his third save by inducing a game-ending flyout.
Calvin Pastel tossed the first six and 1/3 innings before turning it over to Dean for the final eight outs of the game. Pastel (6-0) scattered five hits and two walks in posting his second win over the Eagles this season.
Shenandoah scored its initial run in the first as Ritter led off with a double to left and scored on Lisa's single to left.
Ritter, Horning, Lisa, and
Kooper Anderson all had two hits in the win with Horning and Lisa both driving in a pair.
Eight of the Hornets nine hitters had at least one hit on the day.
