LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 24 Shenandoah earned a split of its ODAC baseball doubleheader at No. 5 Lynchburg Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (26-9-1, 11-5-1 ODAC) was a 13-11 victor in game one before its fellow set of ODAC Hornets (29-7, 14-3) salvaged a split with a 15-3 game two victory.
GAME ONE RECAP
SU erased an early 3-0 deficit with one run in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth on its way to the 13-11 victory.
After a four-run top of the eighth, Shenandoah extended its lead to 13-3 but then had to hold on as Lynchburg matched with four in the bottom of the frame and then scored twice in the ninth.

Kevin Anderson turned to
Carson Kulina to close out the contest. The junior delivered, getting strikeout and a fielder's choice groundout to earn his second save in eight days and extend Shenandoah's winning streak to nine games.
The victors had 17 hits in the win with eight of the nine starters getting at least one hit each.
Gavin Horning and
Henry Delavergne had three hits each with
Frankie Ritter,
Kyle Lisa,
Pearce Bucher,
Haden Madagan, and
Logan Wood all getting two hits.
Delavergne and Ritter drove in three runs apiece. Lisa, Bucher, and Wood all posted two RBI.
Jacob Bell (3-0), the second of five pitchers, earned the win with four innings of relief work. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three.
GAME TWO RECAP
Lynchburg jumped out to a five-run lead after three innings and didn't look back in the 15-3 game two win.
Shenandoah outhit its hosts, 10-9, but left 10 men on base and nine SU pitchers issued 11 walks and hit four batters.
Reilly Owen (2-4) took the loss after giving up five runs (four earned) on two hits and four walks in 1 2/3 innings of work.
Haden Madagan was 3 for 4 with two RBI on a double and a home run to lead the offense. Ritter and Bucher both had two hits.
