SALEM, Va. – Second-seeded Randolph-Macon used a pair of big innings Friday afternoon to send Shenandoah University into the elimination bracket of the 2022 ODAC Softball Tournament.
 
Macon (31-7 and the nation's No. 13 team) scored eight runs in the first and six more in the third on its way to a 14-3 five-inning victory over the Hornets (14-23).
 
IN BRIEF
Shenandoah scored its three runs on two hits and two Yellow Jackets errors in the top of the fifth.
 
Rachael Blumenschine, 
Lily Richichi, and 
Ryelee Brown had RBIs in the fifth with Blumenschine and Richichi both reaching via fielder's choice and Brown singling up the middle.
 
Brown's hit was one of three for SU on the afternoon. 
Tiffany Bower had an infield single in the second and 
Taylor Glover a single through the right side in the fifth.
 
Megan Scalley (6-11) took the loss after allowing eight runs on six hits and one walk in two-thirds of an inning.
