WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Roanoke College worked around losses to Shenandoah University's top two players in a 5-4 ODAC men's tennis victory Sunday afternoon.
Shenandoah (2-9, 1-5 ODAC) got wins at No. 1 doubles and Nos. 1 and 2 singles, but Roanoke (6-8, 3-3) earned the team victory by taking five of the remaining six matches.

Gene Perle-Jones got the Hornets started with an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles before the Maroons answered back with 8-1 and 8-4 victories at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.
Orr brought SU back to level with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, but Roanoke again had an answer.
The Maroons won 6-3, 6-1 to earn their third team point, and after Perle-Jones again knotted the team score at 3-3 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, won the match by winning at Nos. 5 and 6 in straight sets.
With the team result decided, Aiden Steinly won at No. 4 singles 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (10-4).
