INDIANAPOLIS – Shenandoah University has been awarded one of 16 opening round regionals for the 2022 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship in selections announced Monday afternoon by the NCAA.

Shenandoah, the 2022 ODAC Champion, will host the regional Friday through Sunday at the recently renovated Bridgeforth Field in Winchester.

St. Joseph's (L.I.), Stevens (N.J.) and Catholic University of America join SU in the four-team regional. Shenandoah takes on St. Joseph's in the opening game of the tournament at 11 a.m. Friday morning with Stevens and CUA meeting in the 2:30 p.m. contest.

Play continues with three games Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The championship and if-necessary games are slated for Sunday.

The winner of the Winchester Regional meets the winner of the Immaculata Regional in the best-of-three Super Regional round.

Bridgeforth, a 1500-seat facility, was constructed in the late 1970s and renovated this past winter. The university converted Bridgeforth to an artificial turf in-fill system, erected new fencing and dugouts, and constructed a four-bay batting cage as part of the first phase of a multi-year renovation project that will eventually include new lights and bleachers as well as a new press box.
