WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University has advanced to the 2022 Winchester Regional championship thanks to a 10-8 victory over St. Joseph's (L.I.) Saturday night.
Shenandoah (36-11-1) rallied from a six-run deficit with five runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth to eliminate the Golden Eagles (24-14).

Sophomore
Sam Horn had the big blow with a grand slam home run in the seventh. Horn, inserted for catcher
Logan Wood, greeted reliever Dante Morabito with a tower blast to left center to make the score 8-6.
Three batters later,
Kyle Lisa brought home
Frankie Ritter with a single to right to cut the deficit to one.
In the eighth,
Haden Madagan knotted it up at 8-8 with a solo shot to left. Shenandoah kept up the pressure with
Henry Delavergne tripling into the gap in right center and then scoring on
Kooper Anderson's suicide squeeze bunt single.
The final run was unearned as
Matt Moon reached on a dropped fly in right field to send Anderson to third. Ritter then squeezed home Anderson.
Junior
Carson Kulina, the third pitcher of the night for SU, was the winner. Kulina (4-0) tossed the last 4 2/3 innings and allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out three.
Delavergne had three hits with Madagan and Anderson getting two hits and two RBI each.
Michael Manzolillo took the loss for SJU. Manzolillo (3-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits in 2/3 of an inning.
