WINCHESTER, Va. – The third-seeded Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team continues ODAC Tournament play this afternoon with a 3:30 semi-final round game versus second-seeded Roanoke.

Shenandoah (11-6) looks to avenge a 14-8 loss to the Maroons (13-3) in the two squad's regular season meeting on Apr. 9.

The Hornets led 4-2 after one and 6-5 at the break, but saw Roanoke score nine of the game's 11 second half goals on its way to the six-goal victory.

That win gave the Maroons a 6-5 edge in the all-time series between the two programs. The Maroons have won four straight, including a 23-16 victory in the 2021 tournament semi-finals.

That contest, played at Kerr Stadium on the Roanoke campus, was the second-ever meeting between SU and RC in the ODAC Tournament. In 2017, Shenandoah was a 7-6 winner at Roanoke in the quarterfinal round.

SU is looking to make its second-ever appearance in the ODAC Tournament championship. In 2013, the squad's first in the league, Shenandoah hosted Washington & Lee in the championship with the Generals taking an 11-8 victory.

Washington & Lee is the host of the 2022 Tournament semi-finals and finals with all games played at Watt Field on the W&L campus.

Saturday's semi-final versus Roanoke features the top three scorers in the league in Shenandoah's
Emma Stiffler and
Reilly Cisar and Lilly Blair from Roanoke.

Blair, with 57 goals, leads the league in that category while Stiffler's 40 assists and 82 points lead in those two spots. Cisar, with 55 goals and 76 points, is second to Blair and Stiffler, respectively.

Roanoke is second in the league at 15.31 goals per game with SU third at 14.35. Defensively, the two teams remain in those two positions with RC giving up 7.02 goals per game and the Hornets 10.50.

Shenandoah is also second in draw controls to the Maroons fifth while Roanoke is second in caused turnovers to tied for sixth for the Hornets. Roanoke is seventh and Shenandoah ninth in groundballs.

The winner of today's game takes on the winner of the Washington & Lee/Lynchburg semi-final on Sunday at 2 p.m.
