OAKTON, Va. – Shenandoah University opened up its 2022 fall men's tennis season Thursday afternoon with an 8-1 non-league loss at Marymount.
Playing at the Oakton Swim and Racquet Club, the Saints (3-0) took a 2-1 lead after doubles before completing the victory by sweeping the singles over SU (0-1).

Leading 2-0 before the match started as Shenandoah defaulted at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, Marymount got itself a third point with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

Dominick Suwak answered back with an 8-3 victory in the top doubles match to put the Hornets down 3-1 heading into the five singles matches.
Needing two wins, Marymount clinched the victory with straight set victories at Nos. 1 and 3 singles.
Suwak had the closest singles match, falling 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2.
All five contested singles matches went in straight sets.

The men return to action on Tuesday, Sep. 27 at Southern Virginia.
