WINCHESTER, Va. – On Friday night in its final regular season home game of the season, the Shenandoah University women's basketball team defeated Lynchburg, 56-43, in ODAC action.
After Lynchburg (7-16, 6-10 ODAC) hit a half court buzzer beater at the end of the second quarter, Shenandoah's (15-8, 10-6) defense held them to 17% shooting (5 for 29) in the second half to help clinch the win.

SU jumped out to a 18-10 lead at the end of the first frame. Sophomore
Terese Greene scored 10 points herself in that frame, extending her streak of double-digit scoring to 19 games.
Holding a 23-11 lead, the home Hornets let the visiting Hornets cut the lead to 25-21 at the media timeout. The lead would remain at four as the teams headed into the locker room after Lynchburg's half-court shot.
SU's leading rebounder in the contest,
Emily Williams, gathered seven boards in the first 20 minutes. She finished with 10.
The winning Hornets kept the visitors scoreless for nearly eight minutes in the third, holding Lynchburg without a field goal from 8:13 to the 23 second mark. Lynchburg shot 2 for 13 in the stanza.
Greene ended as the leading scorer for Shenandoah with 17 points with
Madisen Kimble adding 13.
