VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Host Virginia Wesleyan had a strong second half Saturday afternoon to earn a 77-60 ODAC men's basketball victory over Shenandoah University.
Shenandoah (6-17, 3-11 ODAC) battled the Marlins (15-7, 7-7) to a four-point halftime deficit, but saw VWU score 42 second half points to pull away.

The Hornets cut the deficit to just two, 35-33, following a Malik Jordan jumper to open the second half scoring, but the hosts had an answer.
Virginia Wesleyan scored 11 of the game's next 14 points to extend its lead into double-digits, 46-36, with 14:23 remaining. A Jordan 3-pointer snapped this streak only to see the Marlins reel off an 18-2 run to push the lead out to 23 points, 64-41, with 7:08 left.
SU would get no closer than 17 points the rest of the way.
First-year Richard Rogers led the visitors with 12 points with senior Davion Roberts adding 11.
Shenandoah shot 22 of 57 (39 percent) and had 31 rebounds. Virginia Wesleyan was an even 50 percent (30 of 50) from the field and pulled down 30 boards.

Shenandoah begins its final week of the regular season with a 7 p.m. home game Wednesday versus ODAC rival Bridgewater.
