WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's basketball team clinched its spot in the upcoming ODAC Tournament with an 88-70 victory over Randolph College Saturday afternoon.

The win gives Shenandoah (7-18, 4-12 ODAC) the No. 10 seed in the tournament and a likely first round contest Tuesday at Virginia Wesleyan.

SU opened the day tied with Lynchburg for the 10
th and final spot in the tournament, but held the head-to-head tiebreaker over the other set of ODAC Hornets by virtue of an 87-86 victory at Lynchburg on Jan. 28. This meant that Shenandoah controlled its own destiny coming into Saturday's regular season finale.

On a day in which senior
Marcus Taylor was honored prior to the contest, the Hornets went out and dominated Randolph to secure their spot in the tourney.

Nick Doyle's club shot a solid 52 percent (33 of 64) for the contest and used a 63 percent performance (19 of 30) in the first half to race out to a 49-37 halftime advantage.

The WildCats (5-21, 1-15) threatened to get back into the contest by cutting their deficit to seven points early in the second, but SU answered with six straight points and the never let Randolph get within single digits again.

The lead ballooned to as much as 22 before Doyle's club coasted home to the 18-point victory.

Binwi Bihai led the victors with 21 points with
Davion Roberts and Taylor adding 13 each and
Richard Rogers 12.

Jerry Goodman had 18 points for the visitors.

The Hornets also had a 35-32 edge on the glass.

Shenandoah travels to Virginia Wesleyan Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. ODAC Tournament first round contest. This matchup will be officially announced later Saturday evening.
