HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – No. 18 Hampden-Sydney used a pair of second half runs to secure a 74-55 ODAC men's basketball victory over Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers (18-4, 12-1 ODAC) held a 33-31 lead at the break, but pulled away from Shenandoah (6-15, 3-9) to start the second and secure the season sweep.
IN BRIEF
SU cut its deficit to that two-point, 33-31, margin thanks to a
Davion Roberts' 3-pointer with 28 seconds remaining in the first.
Unfortunately for the Hornets, H-SC scored the initial nine points of the second and held Shenandoah scoreless for the first 5:32 of the stanza to erase any thoughts of an SU comeback.

The Tigers ripped off another 11 straight points to extend their lead to 18, 53-35, with 11:11 remaining and Shenandoah would get no closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
