WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's tennis team ran its winning streak to three Thursday afternoon with a 6-3 victory over Lake Forest (Ill.) College.
Shenandoah (3-3) was strong again at the top of the lineup, getting double wins from its top four players to secure the victory over the Foresters (4-3).
IN BRIEF
SU took a 2-1 lead after doubles thanks to an 8-2 victory at No. 1 and an 8-1 win at No. 2.
In singles,
Artem Babaiev, who had combined with
Jovan Cirkovic to win at No. 1 doubles, posted the Hornets third point with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2.
Dominick Suwak won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 to put SU one point from victory and then
Keith Orr clinched the team win by winning, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.
Cirkovic provided the victors last point as he broke up LFC wins at Nos. 5 and 6 with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 triumph at No. 1.
Suwak and Orr teamed up for the win at No. 2 doubles.
UP NEXT
Shenandoah completes spring break play Friday with a 9 a.m. match versus Ramapo (N.J.). This is a doubleheader with the SU women.
