RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shenandoah University softball team opened up its participation in the Grand Slam Triangle Classic with a 6-1 loss to Arcadia University.
Shenandoah (1-3) was held to two hits in the contest as Arcadia (1-0) pitchers also struck out a combined nine hitters.

Hannah Evans solo home run to start the frame. The blast to center is Evans first of the season.
Sydnee Flores had the squad's other hit, a one-out bloop single into the middle of the infield in the third.
The Knights scored two runs in the first, one in the third, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth to jump out to the 6-0 lead.
Kayla Stephenson (1-2) allowed five runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out six in 5.0 innings of work.
Taylor Smith pitched the final two innings and struck out two. She allowed one run on two hits and one walk.
