FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University outdoor track & field teams had a total of six wins Saturday at the Battleground Relays hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

The SU men had four of the victories, along with 16 additional top five showing, with the women posting two wins and 10 additional top fives.

MEN'S RECAP
William Crowder in the 100 meters,
Reed Davis in the 1500,
Tucker Kindig in the hammer, and the 4 x 100 relay team of
Noah Eglin,
Charles Vakos,
Devin Kohout, and
Elias McGhie were the men's winners.
Â
The relay team ran a 3:33.52, Crowder posted a 10.81, Davis a 4:11.04, and Kindig a program record 57.08 meters to win their respective events.

McGhie was also the runner-up in the 400 meter hurdles and
Mekhi Mims matched McGhie's finish in the high jump.
Â
The men also had three third place showings:
Jacob Young in the discus,
Dylan Tubbs in the javelin, and
Elijah West in the long jump.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Katya Hoover and
Erin Atkinson had the women's wins in the high jump and 1500 meters, respectively.
Â
Hoover had a 1.54 meter leap to win the high jump while Atkinson posted a 4:54.43 to best a 15-woman field in the 1500.
Madeline Lotts was fifth in that latter event, just hours after she competed in the 10K at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg. The double-dip makes her the first SU track athlete to compete in two different competitions in one day.

Jessica Redfrey was second in the shot put and
Kiara Felston third in the hammer to round out the women's top finishes.

UP NEXT
The Hornets are back on the track Saturday at the North River Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College.
