Three Hornets Win at Joe LaRocco Invitational

SALEM, Va. - Three Shenanodah University indoor track and field athletes won their respective events at the Joe LaRocco Invitational at Roanoke College on Saturday.

Molly Donaldson won the women's shot put, breaking her own school record of 12.45m, with a throw of 12.92m to place first in the 29-competitor field. Roman Bernard set a school record in the men's 400m enroute to winning the event with a performance of 50.04.

Madison Chorney earned the third victory of the meet for SU, winning the women's 5,000m with a time of 19:34.20.

Myah Powell-Utley set multiple PRs at Roanoke, moving into seventh all-time for the SU women with a 8.33 second mark in the prelims of the 60m dash and an eighth all-time performance of 27.56 in the 200m.

Zachary Sheehan is now seventh all-time for the Hornets in the men's long jump after his 6.38m leap. 

Brayden Shotwell cracked into the SU top-10 of the men's mile, running a 4:34.08.

Overall, on Saturday, SU had 36 PRs broken at the meet.

The Hornets head to Rockingham Collegiate Classic this Friday.
