Two School Records Broken at Franklin and Marshall Meet

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Shenandoah University indoor track and field teams had two school records broken at the Mini Dip Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Saturday.

For the Hornets, a record was broken for each program, as Molly Donaldson set a new record in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.45m and Nathan Lee ran a 1:26.96 to break the men's program record for the 600m.

Donaldson finished third in the shot put with her record breaking throw, while also setting a PR in the weight throw with a mark of 12.31m.

In the men's 300m, Zachary Sheehan finished sixth at 37.29 seconds to move into third all-time for the Hornets in the event, while Lee set another PR in the event, wrapping up in 41.37 seconds to jump to ninth all-time for the program. In the same event, sophomore Kyle Corpin also set a PR.

In the men's 600m, the same event that Lee set a new program record in, Corpin would go on to run a 1:29.07 to become fifth all-time for SU in the event.

Both of the SU runners in the women's 300m set PRs and moved up in the programs record book as Amy Oleksy and Grace Semow were separated by just 0.50 seconds to move to fourth and fifth all-time, respectively.

Semow also set the eighth best mark all-time for the Hornets in the women's 800m with a finishing time of 2:26.87. Semow finished sixth in the 38-runner field, while Oleksy wrapped up in eighth, and Emily Blutema set a PR. Blutema also set a PR as the only runner for SU in the women's mile.

In the men's 5,000m, Brayden Shotwell placed second in the race at 15:55.65, which is second best all-time for Shenandoah. Shotwell was one of five Hornets to set a PR in the race.

In the field, Grady Speer threw 14.11m in the men's weight throw for ninth all-time for the Hornets and eighth-place at today's meet.

Four of the five runners for the Hornets in the women's 3,000m broke personal records, with Maddy Chorney finishing second at 11:05.13, Emilie Gaudron in fourth at 11:28.43, and Sarah Lane running a 11:51.39 for sixth.

In the men's mile, Zack Hamacher placed sixth with a 4:42.18, setting a new PR. Will Ashley and John Buckley went on to set career bests in the mile as well. Ashley and Buckley also set PRs in the 800m, but it was Roman Bernard having the best finish of the day in the 800m for SU, running a 2:04.00 for ninth.

Mekhi Mims jumped a 1.85m in the high jump to finish in second place for the second consecutive meet, while Sheehan finished in second place in the triple jump with a 13.10m. Also in the triple jump, Jaimir Bailey hit 12.33m to earn seventh in the event.

In the 200m, Jaidan Cameron set a new personal best in the men's race, while Elaina Ramos did the same over in the women's event.
