HARRISONBURG, Va. – The No. 3 Shenandoah University baseball team traveled to Eastern Mennonite Tuesday afternoon and picked up an 8-4 ODAC win.
Down 3-2,
Frankie Ritter hit a go-ahead two-run homerun to put the Hornets (32-5, 16-4 ODAC) up 4-3 in the sixth and the team stayed ahead in the victory over the Royals (8-28, 4-16).

Gavin Horning got things started for SU with a two-run home run that plated
Colby Martin. Martin stole second and advanced to third on a balk during his journey around the bags.
The Royals responded to Shenandoah in the third and fourth innings to take a 3-2 lead, their only lead of the game. EMU's Aidan Miller drove in all three runs on a double and single in the two frames.
Ritters go-ahead homer came after pitch hitter
Cameron Carrow drew a walk to get on base. Later in the inning, on a defensive error by the Royals, Martin was able to cross the plate for the second time in the contest.
Shenandoah added three more runs in the final frame on a fielder's choice and
Kyle Lisa's sacrifice fly to center field.
Connor Houser added the team's final run on a single to left field, his third RBI of the season.
Jacob Bell (7-0) picked up the win during his 6 1/3 inning outing, striking out three and allowing five hits.
Tristan Everett closed out the game by getting his third save of the season to lockdown the win.
The Hornets entered Tuesday's game after receiving two first-place votes in this week's D3baseball.com/NBWCA Top-25 poll.
