MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Shenandoah University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams had four personal bests and one school record Saturday at the Mount Olive First Qualifier.

Tucker Kindig had the lone victory of the day, winning the men's hammer throw with a 55.64 meter toss on his sixth and final attempt. The school record also came in the hammer throw with
Kiara Felston setting a new women's mark with a 49.59 meter toss.

In addition to Kindig's win, the 4 x 100 meter relay team of
Wyatt Newcome,
William Crowder,
Andre Jackson, and
Miles Moore was fourth at 42.21 seconds.

Jacob Young, in the hammer throw, and
Noah Eglin, in the 100 meters, had the men's personal bests.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Three women: Felston,
Erin Atkinson, and
Katya Hoover, competed in a total of four events with all four finishes coming in the top four. Hoover was second in the high jump and fourth in the javelin, Atkinson third in the 1500, and Felston fourth in the hammer.

Felston's broke the hammer throw record on her fourth attempt while Hoover's 38.17 meter javelin throw is a personal best.
