WINCHESTER, Va. – The third-seeded Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team continues its ODAC Tournament run Friday with a 1 p.m. semi-final round contest at second-seeded Roanoke.
Shenandoah (12-6) has won seven straight games since dropping a 19-9 decision to No. 2 Washington & Lee on Mar. 29. The Generals, the top seed in this ODAC Tournament, are one of four nationally ranked teams that the Hornets have faced this season.
Roanoke, who bested SU, 14-12, as the No. 18 team in the nation on Mar. 25, becomes the fifth as the Maroons are ranked sixteenth in the latest IWLCA poll.
THE SERIES
SU and Roanoke have met 12 times in history with the Maroons winning eight of those contests. Three matchups – May 2, 2022, Mar. 30, 2021, and May 3, 2017, have come in ODAC Tournament play with Shenandoah winning the 2017 quarterfinal round contest.
Both the 2021 and 2022 contests came in the semi-final round with the 2021 game played at Roanoke and the '22 contest at Washington & Lee.

Coach
Lindsey Lutz' squad comes into the semi-final as the second-leading scoring team in the league at 15.50 goals per game.
Graduate student
Emma Stiffler leads the ODAC in scoring with 53 goals and 55 assists for 108 points.
Ainsley Buckner paces the Hornets in goals with 54 (she also has 80 points) with
Reilly Cisar adding 43 goals and
Madison Re 39.
SU is also strong on the defensive end, allowing a third-best-in-league 9.19 goals per game.
Julianna Fohner has a team-best 21 caused turnovers to go along with 33 groundballs.
Goalkeeper
Ashley MacFarlane, along with
Emily Lerch, lead the Hornets in groundballs with 35 each. Lerch is also fifth on the team in scoring with 42 points on 28 goals and 14 assists while MacFarlane has a .485 save percentage and 133 stops in 896 minutes played.
SCOUTING ROANOKE
Roanoke comes into the semi with a 14-2 overall record, is third in the league in scoring at 15.44
goals per game and second in goals against, 6.63 per contest.
Senior attack Lilly Blair leads RC in scoring with 41 goals and 28 assists for 69 points. Libby Bowman is right behind with 66 points on 49 goals and 17 assists.
In the goal, Kyleigh Chickering has played 773 minutes and boasts a 7.37 goals against average with 86 stops and a .475 save percentage.
WHAT'S NEXT
The winner of Friday's game takes on the winner of the No. 1 W&L versus No. 5 Randolph-Macon semi-final on Sunday. That game will be played on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
