RECAP

• Shenandoah's first shot of the day, coming from Ainsley Buckner, rang off the post and led to Ithaca gaining control. The Bomber's possession led to nothing though as they turned over the ball. This turnover helped the Hornets get back down the field and fire off a shot from Sofia Albi. Albi's shot went wide of the net, but possession stuck with the Hornets. Seconds later Gabriella Raspanti connected with Ainsley Buckner for the Hornets' first goal of the game and putting them on top, 1-0.
• SU remained up for the next several possessions, in large part to a save and caused turnover by goalie Madison Perry. However, following an SU foul, Ithaca took advantage to score a man-up goal. Ithaca added another goal minutes later as more SU shots were saved and hit the post.
• Now down 2-1, Buckner won a draw control for her squad and took the ball down the field as she found Raspanti for their second goal of the afternoon, tying the contest and two aside. Over the next 4:50 of the quarter, Ithaca scored four consecutive goals to take a 6-2 advantage into the second quarter.
• The Bombers capitalized on three more scoring opportunities to go up 9-2 and hold SU without a goal for over 15 minutes of game time. Shenandoah finally got back on the board as Amy Bell passed to a moving Elizabeth Szell in the middle of the 12-meter fan, and Szell fired a shot right past the Bombers goalie. Ithaca added another goal before the half ended, going up 10-3 at the break.
• The second half continued to be all Ithaca but Raspanti helped Shenandoah get all three of its goals in the final 30 minutes, as the senior collected three points in the half.
• First Raspanti scored a free-position goal in the third quarter and then in a matter of 62 seconds in the fourth, she had assisted on goals from Emily Ransom and Emily Lerch.
• Despite the score, SU had won the turnover battle in the second half and gained more draw control wins than the Bombers in the second half.
• Goalie, Madison Perry made seven saves in the game. Raspanti led the team with five points while Buckner also collected a multi-point game.
• Shenandoah finishes the season with 15 wins, a program record. Women's lacrosse also became just the second SU team to win an NCAA tournament contest in the last decade.
• The program also set a program best with eight All-ODAC honorees while also getting one USA Lacrosse All-American.
