RECAP

• SU, serving as the road team, batted first and led off the game with a single by Brenna Westwood, advancing to second on a sacrifice bunt. Later in the inning, Westwood stood on third. This allowed Tiffany Bower to single and drive in the first run of the day, putting SU up 1-0.
• Shenandoah didn't pick up any hits in the next three innings and had just one base runner which allowed the Eagles to tie the game. The tying run came on a throwing error in the fourth with no outs.
• In the sixth inning, Allison McQueeney started the frame with a single to third and advanced to third throughout the next two at-bats. With two outs, Bower drove in the Hornets' second run of the game with on a single to right center.
• Down to their final four outs of the game, Bridgewater delivered the game-tying run on a single through the left side in the sixth.
• Shenandoah stranded a runner in scoring position in the seventh, sending the game to extras.
• In the eighth, Paige Eagleton doubled to right field to put the go-ahead run at second. A fielding error by the Eagles right fielder brought Eagleton home and put SU on top, 3-2. Bridgewater responded right away with a lead-off solo home run to tie the game once again in the bottom of the inning.
• A lead-off hit, this time in the tenth, gave the Eagles the winning run as they advance and play later tonight.
