HOW IT HAPPENED

Terese Greene opened the scoring with a three-pointer off an assist from Emily Williams. Maddie Kimble followed with a triple of her own, also assisted by Williams, to give the Hornets a 6–0 lead. Williams then scored her first points of the game with Kimble returning the assist. Shenandoah kept Roanoke scoreless for the first four minutes and ended the quarter leading 16–9.

After a slow start to the quarter, Addisyn Banks jump started the Hornets with back-to-back jumpers, sparking a 7–0 run that included a Kimble three-pointer assisted by Danni Marmo. Roanoke responded with consecutive baskets, but Greene's three-pointer pushed the Hornets' lead to 28–17 with under five minutes remaining. Roanoke briefly cut the deficit to 28–24, but Shenandoah finished the half on an 8–1 run to head into the break with a 36–25 advantage.

Greene continued her scoring spree in the third quarter, beginning with a basket off a Kimble assist.
