Brown Named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. - Shenandoah University first-year quarterback, Mekhi Brown, has been named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week following a 45-7 win at Guilford College on Saturday. Brown, making his second career start, passed for 251 yards and four touchdowns on 70 percent passing. 

The quarterback began his day with a 79-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Redfearn on the first play from scrimmage for the Hornets' offense. Brown made it 21-0, in favor of SU, in the second quarter on a one-yard pass to Jackson McFarland.

Early in the third quarter, Brown added another 50-plus-yard pass to his day, setting up a five-yard touchdown pass to Carter Rodriguez. On the quarterback's final play of the game, the first-year made it 42-0, finding Christian Forrest for an 18-yard touchdown.

Brown is the first Hornet to earn the weekly honor this season.
