Women's Golf in Fifth Place at John Carroll Invitational

Willoughby Hills, Ohio - The Shenandoah University women's golf team opened the first round of the John Carroll Fall Invitational in fifth place with a 347 (+59).

Manon Branfaux led the Hornets on day one with an 84 (+12) with birdies on holes one and 13. Gaby Frick scored a birdie on hole eight to give her an 85 (+13). Erica Laurentino also birdied 13 and sits one stroke behind Frick.

Cierra Bigelow gave the Hornets their final team points with a 92 (+20), with a birdie on 18. Sophia Hansen had three straight pars on holes 13-15, carding a 93 (+21) on day one.

Individuals Amanda Dasher and Alexa Strohman each had a 91 (+19), recording six and five pars, respectively. Carley Westmoreland rounded out the day for SU with a 98 (+26).

Shenandoah returns to the course tomorrow for the final round of the JCC Fall Invitational.
