Men's Tennis Wins Regular Season Finale

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's tennis team concluded its regular season on Friday afternoon with a 6-1 non-conference victory over Harford Community College at home.

The Hornets (11-6) defeated the Fighting Owls behind four three-set wins in singles. At No. 1 singles, Dominick Suwak fell behind by one set after falling 6-3 in the opener. The Hornets No. 1 came back with 6-1, 6-1 wins in set two and three. 

Jovan Cirkovic also went down a set but evened up his match at No. 3 with a 7-6 second set with a tiebreaker. Cirkovic helped get the Hornets another team point with a 6-2 third-set victory. 

Artem Babaiev went 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 while Shine Tokas, at No. 2, went 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to round out the three-set victories for Shenandoah. Keith Orr picked up the lone straight-set win, going 7-6, 6-4. Orr's first set ended with an 11-9 tiebreaker.

In doubles, Marvin Kuehnelt/Tokas won 7-6, and Cirkovic/Babaiev earned a 6-2 win, helping SU gain the team point.
