RECAP

Randolph-Macon made the first two baskets of the evening for a 4-0 lead, which didn't last long as SU responded with a 10-0 run thanks to five points from Banks and buckets from Brynna Nesselrodt and Taylor Moran. Banks added four more points in the first quarter for a 19-8 SU lead at the end of one.

Shenandoah's lead hit double-digits for good early in the second quarter with a second-chance jumper from Mya Martin. Lily Berger and Nesselrodt connected for three-pointers in the middle of the quarter to get the lead up to 15 for SU.

After a brief 4-0 run by RMC, Shenandoah extended its lead out to 23 points thanks to a 12-0 streak that saw five different Hornets score, including three-pointers from Moran and Emily Williams. Shenandoah led by 20 at halftime after RMC ended the half with a three-pointer of its own.

The Hornets' defense dominated the third quarter, holding the Yellow Jackets to four points and zero points for the final 7:44 of the frame. The Yellow Jackets went 2-for-21 from the field in the quarter, while the Hornets made just under 50 percent of their shots at the other end of the court for a 33-point lead.

The Hornets' sizable lead continued in the fourth quarter despite being outscored in the final 10 minutes.

Along with leading the team in points and rebounds, Banks also led Shenandoah with five assists and two steals.
